P.E.T.S. LLC Transport Policy
P.E.T.S. LLC, its owners, employees, and volunteers are all committed to the safe and healthy transport of rescued animals to their new homes. P.E.T.S. LLC accepts the responsibility of providing safe transport for these animals. The following policies are in place to help ensure our mission.
P.E.T.S. LLC makes many stops, with multiple groups dropping off and picking up animals. Groups are expected to meet P.E.T.S. LLC timetable. Weather, road conditions, or an issue with a dog are all reasons for possible delays. Groups can always call 877-560-PETS for updates. P.E.T.S. LLC retains the right to terminate relationships with groups that have a history of not being on time to meet the transport, whether it is at pickup or delivery.
P.E.T.S. LLC assumes responsibility for the safe transport of each dog. The rescue group maintains ownership of the animals during transport and is responsible for any vet bills that may be incurred during transport due to illness or injury not related to negligence. If an employee of P.E.T.S. LLC is unable to speak to a member of the rescue group in the event of a medical emergency, P.E.T.S. LLC reserves the right to make the appropriate medical decision at the expense of the rescue group. P.E.T.S. LLC is happy to create written agreements with each of our groups to identify clearly who is responsible and if minimal or any/all medical treatment would be requested in the unlikely event of a problem.
If a dog needs to be returned to the rescue for any reason, an additional transport fee will be required.
P.E.T.S. LLC is not responsible for any dog that bites an employee and then runs away. Everything will be done to try and retrieve the animal. Again, this is why it is extremely important for the dog to have ID info on the collar.
Strong consideration should be taken by the sending rescue regarding dog(s) that have little or no socialization. It's not fair to the dog or the person receiving the animal. P.E.T.S. LLC cannot be held responsible for a dog that cannot be handled while in our care.
Dogs that show aggression or cannot be handled safely by an employee of P.E.T.S. LLC will not be removed from its crate during transport.
The person or persons who puts the dog(s) on P.E.T.S. LLC transport is ultimately responsible for the transport payment if the adopter or receiving rescue does not pay for it.
When making a reservation for transport, all information must be up-to-date and accurate prior to the scheduled transport date. Information updates and animal substitutions can be made on-line through Monday the week of your scheduled transport. If an update, substitution or cancellation needs to be made after the available date through our on-line system, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for availability/confirmation of change. Reservations can be cancelled at any time and all pre-paid transport fee payments will be refunded 100%.
P.E.T.S. LLC does everything in its power to provide a healthy, clean environment for transport. However, there is always a risk of contagious illness when dealing with rescued animals. P.E.T.S. LLC will not be held liable for illness resulting from transport.
